JANE SCHWEITZER

Democrat for

CIRCUIT CLERK

My name is Jane Schweitzer and I am a candidate for Circuit Clerk for the City of St. Louis.

I am proud to say that the City of St. Louis has been my home for almost all of my life.  I attended grade school, high school, college, and law school in the City.  The City is a vibrant community of diverse neighborhoods and we all have a stake in making it the best City it can be.

I have practiced law for 32 years, providing legal help to people in a wide variety of situations and have tried cases in family law, criminal law, personal injuries, and business disputes.  I began my legal career at Moser, Marsalek, becoming a partner in 1985.  I left the partnership in 1990 when Gordon and I had our fourth child and was a solo practitioner until 2005.  During that time I also served as a consultant to and later an associate of Donald L. Schlapprizzi, P.C.  I am now of counsel to Lathrop and Gage LLP.   Through these years of representing people in the courtroom I have gained a real appreciation of the importance of the Clerk’s office to the efficient functioning of our court system.

I am a member of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Women Lawyer’s Association, the Women’s Leadership Council of the Humane Society of Missouri and am the Moderator of the Board of Trustees of Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ.

My husband, Gordon Schweitzer, Jr. and I have raised four children in this City, Elise, Gordon III, Anne, and John.   We have three dogs - Dukakis, Rose Kennedy and Abigail Adams

I would be proud to serve as your Circuit Clerk.
